Manufacturing method of foam metal

The preparation of metal foam includes powder metallurgy and electroplating. The former is prepared by adding foaming agent to molten metal to obtain metal foam; the latter is replicated on the skeleton of polyurethane foam by electrodeposition.

The powder metallurgy method to manufacture foam metal is to add a foaming agent (such as NH4Cl) to the powder, and the foaming agent volatilizes during sintering, leaving pores. Electrochemical deposition method can be used to prepare foamed metal with regular shape pores and porosity up to 95%, including foam materials with Cu, Ni, NiCrFe, ZnCu, NiCu, NiCrW, NiFe and other metals and alloys as skeletons. The metal electrochemically deposited on the porous body is sintered to connect the deposited components into a whole, and the strength reaches the required high-porosity foam metal.
