Why Should You Replace Range Hood Filters?

Aug 04, 2023

Range hood filters aid in the containment and absorption of all particles produced in the kitchen. Not only will they help keep your kitchen clean and prevent fires, but they will also improve the air quality in your home by capturing things at the source before they make their way through the rest of your home.
The frequency with which you change your hood vent filter is determined by how frequently you cook, the type of filter, the manufacturer's recommendation, and your own discretion.
If you cook frequently, you will produce a lot more particles and smoke, requiring you to change your filters more frequently.

Range hood filters are classified into three types:
Stainless steel
Aluminum Mesh
Charcoal
Carbon is sometimes added to range hood filters to help absorb odors.
Depending on the type of filter, you may be able to clean it to extend its life. Charcoal range hood filters, on the other hand, cannot be cleaned and must be replaced at least every two months or as needed.
To ensure you're getting the most out of your filter, always check the manufacturer's recommendation for changing frequency.
Of course, if you look at your filter and notice that it has seen better days, it's a good idea to replace it.
