Can nickel foam conduct electricity?
Oct 10, 2022
Nickel foam can not conduct electricity, nickel foam is a variety of foam metal, foam metal and foam lead, foam copper, foam titanium, etc. Foam metal, also called sponge metal, is a metal with high porosity, large specific surface area and unique three-dimensional mesh structure and other characteristics. Foam metals play an important role in wave absorption, filtration, catalysis, energy storage and other fields. One of the main varieties of foam metals is nickel foam.
Before the sponge substrate plating metal nickel, the sponge must undergo conductive processing, one of the processes is the sponge is infiltrated with conductive glue to make the sponge conductive, and then nickel ion plating to the sponge substrate, after roasting, reduction and other processes to form nickel foam. One of the conductive gels used in the above process is water-based graphite latex which meets the requirements of nickel foam production, and the use of water-based graphite latex as a conductive gel makes the production of nickel foam less polluting to the environment. The specific performance of submicron graphite latex produces high-end nickel foam with high porosity, low resistance, good folding resistance and a large specific surface area.
