Nickel Foam Introduction
Jul 18, 2023
Nickel Foam has an interconnected cellular structure with a porosity of more than 95%. Nickel foam has a very large surface area due to its high porosity and is used in applications that require a high surface to volume ratio. It is commonly used as a photocatalytic substrate, as an electrode in photoelectrochemical systems, and for electrode development in fuel cells (Platinum coated electrodes). Large surface area is a must in all of these applications. Increased surface area increases the rate of surface reaction, increasing the system's efficiency. Nickel Foam is also used as a current collector in supercapacitors. It is also used for vibration and noise absorption due to its porous structure and high strength.
