What are the characteristics of nickel foam?

Aug 02, 2022

Sound absorption - Nickel foam has a porous structure and is an excellent sound absorption material.

Refractory - Nickel foam can withstand high temperatures over 1100 degrees Celsius, and it is not easy to burn at high temperatures.

Ultra-light material - has a surface area per unit mass of about 0.25, 1/30 that of iron, a surface density of about 350g/m2, and a porosity of 93% - 95%.

Ease of Processing - Nickel foam is extremely malleable and can be cut, bent and pasted.

Electromagnetic shielding - Nickel foam can shield electromagnetic waves with a wavelength of 90dB with a relatively thin thickness.

Corrosion resistance - Like bulk nickel, nickel foam is corrosion resistant, even at high temperatures or in natural fresh water and caustic alkali.
