How to choose foam metal products

Foam metal material has five main parameters.
1. Metal base material, which is the metal porous foam material is made of which metal material, at present the main research and development and production of materials are foam nickel, copper, iron, iron-nickel alloy, copper-nickel alloy, and a variety of surface heat treatment of the material such as chromium infiltration.
2. PPI, the number of holes per inch, is a special parameter of the foam sponge material, expressing the number of sponge cells per inch length of distance straight through, the intuitive identification is the larger the PPI value, the smaller the holes on the surface of the material can be seen with the naked eye.
3. Thickness, at present, the materials provided are all sheet materials with a thickness range of 0.7mm-25mm
4. Area, at present, the area of the common single sheet material is 500X500mm, (except for the mass production of continuous strip material).
5. Density, which is divided into bulk density and surface density, bulk density is the weight of the material in a fixed volume, such as 1000g/m3, and surface density is the weight of the product in a fixed area under the specified thickness, such as 10mm thickness, 1600g/m2; density determines the strength of the material.
